Staff Advisories: Operation Bulldog 5 (2010)
1. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is absolutely forbidden while you are on post. The TA50, main road, EMF, BMF & HMF are all on post. Do not violate this rule. There is far more at stake than you think.
2. Player kits will be circulated one to two weeks prior to the event, earlier if possible. Either way, do not expect them until the last week of September or early the first week of October.
3. A map of EMF/HMF will be included in your player packet. I am researching what is available for BMF. When last I checked both Google Maps and Google Earth provided an aerial view at least a year old - construction equipment and detritus was still at the roadside in the image and most buildings were incomplete. I'll keep everyone posted in this regard.
4. Directions to the TA50 and EMF/BMF/HMF will be included in your player packet.
5. When John announces details for receiving POV passes I will post notification and a link to his topic on the matter in this thread.
6. Port-O-Potties will be made available on site Friday 15-OCT-10. Time of delivery will be coordinated later, check back for updates. Please use these facilities.
7. The TA50, where we will stage, is part of a tracked vehicle training area. Simply put - it is TORN UP: The terrain is uneven, with many holes hidden in deep grass. Therefore:
7.a. Please wear appropriate footwear in the TA50
7.b. Be careful, watch your step, do not run, walk on the roadway as much as possible
7.c. If you're camping, you'll probably be happier with a cot, than on the ground (just a suggestion)
7.d. If it is as wet as it was last year you should avoid parking on the main portion of the tank road. It is basically a huge mud pit and there are no guarantees that vehicles capable of extracting you will be available.
8. The TA50 is a wide open plain - it gets very windy out there. Please be sure you have clothing to keep you warm in these conditions.
9. If it's not windy on the TA50, it will be infested with insects. Bring your insect repellent. Please respect other players, their equipment and vehicles by stepping 50 feet away from the staging areas to apply any sprays.
10. Be mindful and respectful of all campers, whether you are camping or not.
11. Practice the epitome of weapons safety in the staging areas and during the marches to/from the MOUT sites and/or the TA50:
11.a. Remove your magazines
11.b. Safe your weapons in the staging area
11.c. Keep your muzzle pointed at the ground or the sky at all times
11.d. Do not discharge your replica in the staging area - staff will mark an area for weapons testing and hopup adjustments
11.e. Respect ANY AND ALL requests to comply with any safety rules, should you accidentally forget. This includes staff, players, range controllers, range safety officers etc.
12. A weapons testing area will again be provided adjacent to the chrono pit. Please visit the weapons testing area before visiting chrono. Ensure that your replicas work, your power supplies are charged and your hopups are turned off. This will make the chrono process quick for everyone.
13. Chrono and chrono markings are absolute:
13.a. You may not enter the play area without a properly marked replica
13.b. Do not remove your chrono tag, if you do, you will be asked to chrono again
13.c. If for any reason you need or see fit to change to a replica which wasn't previously chronoed and marked, please see a staff member to get squared away, they'll be happy to resolve the matter for you
14. Staff will be checking your eye-protection at the chrono station. Please bring your full-sealing ANSI Z87.1 rated goggles with you when you visit chrono.
15. Remember that this event calls for the use of biodegradeable BBs, only. This encompasses every single BB you may carry during the event, including those in primary replicas, pistols, grenades, or thrown by hand. Do not, under any circumstances use any other type of BB. We WILL cut scenarios short again if we discover non-bio BBs in the sites.
16. Remember that this event calls for the use of non-winding magazines, only. Player leadership, you are strongly urged to inspect your unit's equipment prior to taking the field in order to avoid penalties. This, fortunately, has not been an issue recently.
17. Unless otherwise noted, expect registration to begin at 1400 on Friday, 15-OCT-10.

Special Game Play Notice/Tip/Suggestion/Dynamic:
1. The Boaz MOUT facility and its interiors are far more diverse than EMF and HMF. Think Zussman, if you've been there. Rooms are more wide open but there are tighter spaces than in the other facilities. Please remember to exercise caution and care when engaging others indoors.
a. I highly recommend, suggest and encourage you to consider bringing along some sort of face protection, particularly for your mouth. Goggles go without saying.
b. Remember that for a grenade to "kill" an opponent it must project a BB and that BB must strike your opponent.
2. Scoring will be based solely on the completion of objectives, this year.
3. SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT DISTANCE RULE IN EFFECT FOR BOAZ:
Due to the extremely close quarters nature of spiral staircases you may only use PISTOLS or SURRENDERS to engage targets within such a staircase's INTERIOR. You may engage OUT of these staircases as you normally would engage any other targets outside a building.
