Normally, squad size is 12 for OLCMSS events.....individuals and twosies and threesies, etc....are dropped in with team of 6, 7, 8, 10, etc....that do not register full squads of 12. Occaisionally, exceptions are even made to accomodate a squad of 13 or 14 if they are prefer to play together or are part of an organized group or team and registered together as such. Sometime though, as Batman said....there are "light" squads who just didn't come up with the full 12 to register, and who did not get others added to their squad from the smaller groups for one of the reasons above or such. Leadership at the event on each side often make "command" decisions to put light squads together on site also or before if they believe it's in their best interests. Generally, when John does the initial rosters for event organization, there are however many platoons and each platoon will field 4 to 5 squads. In order to attain this organization, he often puts "light" or "heavy" squads in a platoon to even up the squad numbers per platoon. What leadership on each side does between final roster posting here and the event is up to them as far as re-organization.
