Food Service on Site for OPI IX...

Food service for Operation Irene IX will be handled by on site vendors Soldier's Pizza and MUTC Fresh Mart in the following way this year:

1) Individual players or squads may call in their orders between now and the event.
2) Orders should be specific to which time or times (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) you are ordering for.
3) You will need to give your real name and specify that you will be there for Operation Irene, Oct. 28-30.
4) Soldier's Pizza and MUTC Fresh Mart will deliver your orders to our Staging Area at the specific times requested (during our scheduled breakfast, lunch, and dinner times on all 3 days).
5) You will pick up your order and pay on site (unless you have prepaid over the phone in some way).

This method will assure that the food vendors do not lose money by ordering too much food ahead of time that is not purchased, and it will save players time in that they only need to get in line and pick up their pre-ordered food on site when the time comes.

Both vendors will also have some items such as candy bars, chips, drinks, etc...on site at the Staging Area should these extra items wish to be added or purchased on site (outside of the pre-orders). Menus and contact info for each vendor to follow in posts below this one.

All times listed are EASTERN STANDARD TIME.

Fri. Oct. 28

Dinner pre-orders will be available for pick up from 1700 to 1900 at the Staging Area (there will be a designated area for Food Vendors for pick ups).

Soldier's Pizza and Fresh Mart will be open all afternoon and until later in the evening for non-preorder walk in dining if you choose. Both are located in the same building (Building # 87, will be marked on the map in the Player Kit) on site, not far from the AO.

Pizza buffet on M-F all you can eat includes drink, 1100 to 1300, $6.00 (for those that might be on site early enough for lunch on Friday). There may be other items available not on the menu, just ask. Having personally eaten here several times now, I can tell you this is great pizza!

You can bring your own food on site with you, and you can leave during breaks if you choose. We will NOT wait for you to start the next scenario if you are late getting back from lunch if you do, however. Given our break times and all that is going on during them (leadership briefings/debriefings, airsoft vendors and sponsors with booths set up on site, needing time to rest and refit, etc...) it is usually easier to stay on site.

Just be aware of the schedule that you will find in your player kit/WARNORD as far as scenario start times, break times, etc...

Had a few more questions about going to eat off site, or to just "walk in" to one of the on site vendors mentioned above. Just to clarify:

The lunch and dinner break schedules for Saturday are hard and fast....we WILL NOT wait for you to get back from lunch to start the next scenario after lunch or after dinner (the night scenario). We have a limited amout of time on site and want to maximize your time in the AO. That is why we have made this arrangement with the two onsite food sources listed above to actually take phone orders before the event and DELIVER hot fresh food to you at our staging area. With over 450 participants between players and staff, to expect to just "walk in" and get waited on and served in a timely manner is not realistic. On Friday, yes, should be no problem for people filtering through those two places on post. On Saturday and even Sunday, no, not really an efficient way to get food. As I said before, you are welcome to bring in your own food if you do not like the options listed. After event hours (on Fri. afternoon and evening, on Sat. night after the night scenario, and on Sunday after the event is over) I'm sure it would not be a problem to walk in to either place and be served. During event hours however, please either pre-order or bring your own so that we may all make efficient use of our down times at lunch and dinner and get all of you back in the AO in a timely manner to do what you are all coming for....
