Irene 2012 Theme

I was wondering what other peoples thoughts were on the 2012 theme for this Irene, Charlie vs Delta?

I think it will be alot of fun. But then i try to go with the attitude of think of it as going to be fun and often it is. The 3rd evil force should make it very different, and MUTC is a great AO. With next year being the 20th with any luck we will be back at Zuss, as a new and improved Mout.

I wonder if we will be able to be on the 3rd force as a player or if that will be filled with staff/players similar to the milita?

No hard decisions for Irene 10 have been made yet. Only time will tell what the format will be. As of now, any 3rd force would be staff / game control, but we really haven't started any organization yet.

The 3rd force (Shadow Squad under Sgt. Dobroff) will be a staff element. Paying players WILL NOT be permitted to sign up under Sgt. Dobroff.

John Lu wants OPI X to be a retro game that gives a nod back to the old days of Irene when it was Charlie Co. (Col. McKnight) vs Delta Co. (Msgt. Mullen) with a staff unit (Shadow Squad) led by one of the OLCMSS VIP Commanders, this time Sgt. Dobroff.

FYI, very few details will be available until the date and location are completely locked down (should be sometime in July). We are still setting up the planning group and brain storming ideas to work in Charlie vs. Delta while trying to pay tribute to the events that happend in Somalia.

Col. McKnight's Charlie Co. will be wearing Desert DCU and MSGT Mullen Bravo Co. will be wearing Woodland BDU.

This is my first Irene, and my second Lion Claws. I played OP Southern Comfort last week and am looking forward to this event!

I had a fellow teammate to play at Op Southern Comfort. He loved it he also made it to IRENE this year. So we will be there together on Charlie... I can't wait is it September yet?

My first Irene was 8 at Zussman, and since I live close and occasionally role play there I've seen the improvements they are making, if it goes back next year it will be an amazing place to play once again. MUTC is good, but Zussman and Anaconda are purpose built AO's with a ton of realism thrown in.
