Once known as the “Jewel of Africa”, Zimbabwe lies in economic ruin. After decades of mismanagement and rampant inflation, the people are some of the poorest in the world, despite the relative wealth of the country. With the discovery of new mineral deposits and the recent step down of the totalitarian president, many hoped that the beleaguered African nation would find its feet and return to its former glory. Instead, the relative lawlessness has created an environment where conflict erupts at the slightest provocation. Entire towns and villages have been deserted as various tribal factions fight for control of the land.

In response, the United Nations have sent a Joint Special Operations Task Force into the region. TASK FORCE ALPHA, led by former Delta Force Sergeant Major Mark Collazos, is tasked with stabilizing the region. In order to do this, they must first capture a town along a known mining site and major trading route.

Their job will not be easy. In a move to protect what they claim as legitimate mining rights, several mining companies in the area have hired Ranger Master Sergeant “Mad Max” Mullen and his BRAVO COMPANY to protect what they see as rightfully theirs. They currently control the town, and are working to eliminate resistance from tribal factions. They are tasked with holding the town against any encroachment.

In the midst of all this, a third group lurks in the shadows. Sons of this once prosperous land, the rumors say that this force has returned home, and have vowed to remove any interlopers as they seek to rebuild their old nation…

Operation Lion Claws Military Simulation Series is proud to present OPERATION LION CLAWS 17!

Join us on Memorial Day Weekend, 25-27 MAY 2018, at George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, for one of the largest military simulation events in the country.

The Area of Operations for OPERATION LION CLAWS 17 has been expanded to include even more terrain. In addition to the usual urban terrain that George Air Force Base is known for, this year’s operation will include fighting in the desert to the east and south. In addition, the hospital, which has before been used only for special missions, will be in play and vital to control for the entire operation.
