Operation Lionclaws VII, Memorial Day Weekend, 2008
It has been almost 3 years to the day that Task Force McKnight captured the renegade Warlord Miller and brought renewed hope to the embattled people of Tehachapi. In that time, US and British forces have been building new infrastructure, rooting out the last of the insurgency, and training the Tehachapi Defense Force.
Though a not without setbacks, the training progressed steadily and has reached a point where US commanders feel the TDF can now take over the task of security for the country. To mark this occasion, and as a show of readiness, a war-game has been scheduled between two of the TDF.s elite forces: the Desert Raiding Squadron and the Mountain Commando Troop. This war-game will be observed and evaluated by US military advisors as final confirmation that the people of Tehachapi are ready to take their destiny into their own hands.
Both units have a proud warrior tradition that traces their roots back to before the various peoples of Tehachapi united to form a single nation. A friendly yet intense rivalry exists as each unit attempts to prove that it is the .best of the best. that its nation has to offer. Even within each force, the various Companies strive to outdo one another with their discipline and esprit-de-corps. This should make for an impressive show of force as these units compete for honor and glory in the war-game designated Operation: Lionclaws VII.
Every Operation Lion Claws Military Simulation Series event is noted as a three-day event.
LC-VII will give you a good reason to want to be there first thing Friday morning.
You have three key reasons to want to be at the AO early on Friday morning:
- If you're fit to handle the most physically challenging missions and would like to sign up for FORCE RECON COMPANY as either a part of Desert Raider unit or Mountain Commando unit, you must arrive at 0900 on Friday morning for PRIORITY CHRONO and attend special classes by event VIPs. Your unit will also be the FIRST to deploy on Saturday. (84 slots per side)
- If you want to avoid standing in the CHRONO line for two hours or longer as many did last year when they arrived around 4pm, get there early.
- Most importantly, you will enjoy SPECIALTY CLASSES taught by the event VIPs. Lion Claws VII is the first time that all LC VIPs will each offer a session on their respective special subjects. Each VIP will share with you his combat experiences (with Q&A) in combination of practical instructions.
Learn about Sgt. Miller's most horrific patrol experience in Vietnam and how his small LRRP team survived both the element and the enemy!
Sgt. Miller will also offer a Jungle Patrol class and jungle stealth techniques that you will be able to implement in all your future jungle battles. Sgt. Miller conducted 80 combat missions in the jungles of Vietnam and lived...come learn the secrets of his trade!
Relive the cold and wet pre-dawn jump when the Rangers parachuted into Grenada in Operation Urgent Fury. Hear how the MSG transform a SEAL into a Ranger Student!! Hooah!!
MSG Mullen will take your game to another level in both physical conditioning and combat intensity. "March or Die" baby!!
In the former Soviet Union, soldiers were deployed on a Humanitarian Mission to a far away land called Afghanistan. Russian young men signed up in droves to help the Afghan tribal people. What happened in the years past is another story. Share Sgt. Dobroff's tales of Arabian nights!
Learn Russian drill with Sgt. Dobroff, while US Special Forces are fighting terrorists in Afghanistan, Russian Spetznaz are fighting terrorists in Chechnya. You never know when your unit maybe paired up with the Rooskies.
January 1968, a small Green Beret camp is about to be overrun by NVA with tanks. You're a young Lt. cramped in the command bunker along with your men. A satchel charge comes rolling down your bunker...what would you do? Learn how this incredible Green Beret, who simply refused to die, inspired his men to fight their way out of such dire straits!
Col. Longgrear will also offer a session in Combat Defense. Sometimes your best defense is an aggressive offense!
